Andrew (Rocky) Raczkowski of Troy served 27 years in the Army and Army Reserves and is the president and founder of Imperium Logistics, LLC. He is a former state representative and holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, a master’s degree from Central Michigan University and a law degree from Michigan State University. He will serve as the nominee of the Speaker of the House.
David Rutledge of Ypsilanti served in the Air Force as a personnel officer. He is a former state representative and the owner and president of Esourceful, LLC. Rutledge holds a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University and an honorary doctor of public service degree from Eastern Michigan University. He will represent the interests of one or more congressionally chartered veterans’ organizations.
Serving an initial three-year term expiring April 15, 2020:
Mary Kummer Naber of Grosse Pointe Park is the president and CEO of PACE Southeast Michigan. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University and master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She will serve as the nominee of the Senate Majority Leader.
MaryAnne Shannon of Sault Ste. Marie has served 8 years in the Coast Guard Reserves. She is a professor of nursing at Sault College. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, master’s degrees from Wayne State University and Central Michigan University and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. She will serve as a resident of the Upper Peninsula.
Serving an initial four-year term expiring April 15, 2021:
Larry Yachcik of Fremont served in the position of President and Chief Executive Office of Port Hills from January 2008 until he retired in September 2017. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Community Development from Central Michigan University and is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. Before joining Porter Hills, Larry served as Vice President of Corporate Operations for Tendercare Michigan, Inc. As a former Vice President of Government Relations for the Health Care Association of Michigan (HCAM), Larry is knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with the regulatory and reimbursement environment in the State of Michigan.
David Henry of Fruitport is vice president of facility management operations for Trinity Continuing Care Services. He holds a paramedic certification in emergency medical services from Grand Valley State University and a certification in long-term care administration from Michigan State University.
Spencer Hoover of Grosse Pointe Park served four years in the Army Airborne Infantry. He is the system vice president and executive director of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute. Hoover holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Troy University and master’s degrees in business administration and finance from Pennsylvania State University.
Serving a four-year term expiring April 15, 2022:
John Thorhauer of Chelsea served eight years in the Army Reserves. He is the President and Chief Strategy Officer of United Methodist Retirement Communities, Inc, and recently served on the Michigan Veterans Facilities Board of Managers. Thorhauer holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Averett College in Virginia. He will represent the interests of one or more congressionally chartered veterans’ organizations.
